In about a month, some of my brother\’s cartoons will be featured in an upcoming book called Upstart Crows, a collection of fiction from various authors, published by Wide Array. As the tagline goes:

Russian death squads, werewolves, eyeless janitors, lightning rods, dead swans, some fish, poetry, comics–what else do you need?

Check back here for how to order a copy, or visit the soon-to-be-updated website of Wide Array.

And then next year, Simply Titled Yuck, the complete collection of Bobby\’s art will be out in book form. Stay tuned.

ON SALE NOW! Only $4 postage paid!!!

The long-awaited followup to 2004’s Well I Sorta Know How You Feel is finally here!

Querulous is the fifth album by Texas rockers 41 Gorgeous Blocks. The upbeat pop-punk sound found on previous 41GB records is once again present, though several \”centerpiece\” songs offer a more realized –and somewhat darker– side of the band.

Though not an overt concept album, Querulous follows a lyrical arc: the word wait appears 20 times, the word time appears 21 times, and the sentence I’m still intending a happy ending, but there’s never time to enact my plan, so while I wait for that chance, we forge ahead with shouldn’ts, don‘ts, and can‘ts appears at least once.

Co-produced by punk legend Stephen Egerton (Descendents, ALL).

14-song CD w/ artwork and lyrics in a durable plastic sleeve.

Matt Riggle – vocals, guitar
Matt Morris – drums, vocals
Tanner Leaser – bass, vocals

by Preston Jones (Star-Telegram)

41 Gorgeous Blocks makes the kind of amiable, intelligent pop-punk you wished were more popular than it is. Querulous vacillates between light and dark with an unforced ease…. These 14 tracks are tight, focused and hopelessly melodic; Riggle’s high, expressive vocals bounce eagerly off of drummer Matt Morris and bassist Tanner Leaser’s proficient playing. Standout cuts include “The Common Thread” and the sweet, subtle “Something That Rings a Bell”.
