41 Gorgeous Blocks makes the kind of amiable, intelligent pop-punk you wished were more popular than it is. Querulous, the fifth studio album from the Arlington-based trio, vacillates between light and dark with an unforced ease. The group doesn\’t have a release date set for this record, but frontman Matt Riggle says it will be sometime this fall. Co-produced by veteran punker Stephen Egerton (of Descendents fame), these 14 tracks are tight, focused and hopelessly melodic; Riggle\’s high, expressive vocals bounce eagerly off of drummer Matt Morris and bassist Tanner Leaser\’s proficient playing. Standout cuts include The Common Thread and the sweet, subtle Something That Rings a Bell. Catch 41 Gorgeous Blocks in action Sept. 1 at the Cavern in Dallas.

As some of you may know, Karl suffered a minor fluke heart attack on August the 11th. Physically he is fine, there is no lasting damage to his heart. However, Punk Rock has no benefits package and he\’s saddled with some pretty massive medical bills. We have organized a myspace page to help generate gifts to help him with his expenses also there will be benefit shows set up to help raise money. Click on the banner below to go to the page.
