Hey! Well somehow I’ve managed to crawl from the wreckage of an emergency diskectomy and return to my “normal” way of life. However, the doctor must have also plucked something else inside me because when I awoke, I had the burning urge to find and post this video (at the bottom). Hmm…
Thank you to everyone who dropped me a line and made last week manageable, if not enjoyable. Also thank you to my family and Kim for helping me through it all. I know it wasn’t a huge deal in the scheme of things, just a simple routine surgery, but it was pretty damn huge to me and I feel like I’m a new person. Well, a new person with the same ol’ annoying and boring complex. But now, I seem to like it. Now I see what this whole “Wow, look at me, I just had surgery!” thing is all about.
I’ve been re-reading a lot of Aaron Cometbus lately and have been feeling more inspired than I think I’ve ever been in my life. At one point last week, I had even convinced my self to write a book but don’t worry, I\’ve since then laid off the Vicodin and have talked myself out of it. You’ll just have to wait for the movie…
Enjoy the video and I’ll see you soon. Me and the boys (Matt and Tan being the boys in case you thought I was referring to my kids or something; I don’t have kids; well except Matt and Tan) are feeling refreshed and anxious to play shows. A small Texas tour with The Tattle Tales is happening in late July. Details coming.
Talk to you soon,
Riggle
