Thanks everyone for coming out to one or both of the shows yesterday. For those keeping score, we can just about chalk up another case of Yuppiefest-induced heat stroke for our drummer. That brings him to a career total of one full-blown case and two \”just about\” cases of Yuppiefest-induced heat stroke in just four short years. Keep up the good work, Matt!
But yeah, it was insanely hot out there and I plan to lead a revolution for next time that includes the rental of a big sun-blocking tarp and several industrial-sized box fans. Or, as one person suggested, three oversized 10-gallon hats that we can wear onstage at times like these might just do the trick.
But beyond my knee-jerk complaints about the heat, a big thanks goes out to Josh, Paul and all the others who continue to invite us back to Yuppiefest year after year. We\’re grateful. And sunburned. But mostly grateful.
The second show of the day, the television thing, went pretty well. The production guys all did a great job, and the crowd was made up of willing and able hecklers which always makes things more exciting. The show will replay on channel 15 in Irving (you can also stream it online) a few more times. I\’ll post those times/dates when I know them.
Our next show is an all ages one on October 9th in Dallas with The Queers!

So we\’re doing this deal at the Red Blood Club on Saturday with fellow Grand Prairie rockians The Dropouts, along with some others. I call it a \”deal\” but really it\’s just a show. But it\’s our first Dallas show in a couple months and our first Deep Ellum show in more than a year. It hasn\’t really been a conscious effort, not playing Deep Ellum, although we have been aware of our absence. Really, it\’s because the thought of driving down the road and playing to either old drunks or no one at all hasn\’t appealed much to us lately. I mean, that\’s what tour is for, right?
Anyways, this one\’ll be ALL AGES and fairly cheap (a rarity in the Deep Ellum world), so I hope you\’ll at least consider just driving by and yelling something at us. Just keep it clean. Or at least somewhat clean. Hell, I don\’t care. Do what you want.
Here\’s the info.
